A Hybrid uses two or more power sources to propel a vehicle. Hybrids cost about $3000 more than gas-only cars but you'll save at least $5500 in fuel over the life of the vehicle.

Hybrid Electric is the most popular version of hybrids currently out there when it comes to hybrid vehicles. Cars are part gas power and part battery powered. The car will use the battery power until it runs out and then switch the the gas back up. This is a means of conserving gasoline and money spent on gasoline as well as being more environmentally friendly

Besides electrical power, a classified hybrid vehicle has also used hydrogen, compressed air, human power, wind, natural gas, coal, wood and solar energy as an alternate to gas. Electric is more for automobiles but these factors have been used in other motorized vehicle types.
