It means that your unconscious mind was using the dream to work out the issue that made you think that you hated this person. Hate and love are not polar opposites; in fact, they are very similar. (Indifference is the opposite of both love and hate.) So even though you felt as if you hated this girl, your deeper, unconscious feelings about her may have been quite different. Perhaps something about her reminded you of some insult or injury you received in the past, or some quality of hers reflected someone who had hurt you. What ever the issue was, your unconscious mind was able to resolve it through the dream. When you saw that girl the next day, nothing at all had changed about her. But quite a big change had occurred in you.
