If the building is the dreamer's work place, then the dream represents concern over a setback in one's career. The exception would be any falling dream that occurs just as the dreamer is drifting off to sleep. These dreams express the mind's resistance to "falling asleep."

Dreams of falling, followed by an awakening jerk often occur just as one is "falling" asleep. The subconscious mind provides a literal feeling of the common metaphor. At other times, dreams about falling usually illustrate one's feeling of being out of control.
