Swollen ankles are a common factor in pregnancy. It can mean that you just need to stay off of your feet. However, it can also be a sign of high blood pressure or toxemia. I would consult your doctor for sure.

∙ 13y agoThere are many major and minor causes for swollen ankles, from sitting for long periods of time with your feet down to artery diseases. If you have a swollen ankle then you may have be allergic to something. You may have an allergic reaction to an insect bite. You could have sprained it. It could be your heart or your thyroid. Without knowing your medical history, it would be hard to even venture a guess. This is something best discussed with your doctor.
