Why does the mom cat who was spayed about 2 weeks ago reject her kittens after they just got spayed and neutered yesterday?
I don't have a kitten right now (but im trying to get one) but I did have three cats before and I believe that whats happening is that when the kitten was spayed the hormonal chemicals in the kitten were mostly taken out of the kitten which made the kittens scent change dramatically. There for the kitten has a totally different scent and believe it or not nice cat or mean cats every cat is at least a little territorial about their space. So when the momma cat saw this "new cat" in her space she grew aggressive and began to attack to show the kitten that this was here own space. Cats don't remember different things threw sight the remember things threw smell and once that smell came out of the kitten it was like a new cat came into her territory and shes showing her or him who's boss. Hope I helped you a lot and if you want the momma cat to start liking the kitten again start introducing to momma to the kitten each day, every day, and increase the time spent together each day if it goes well. If its not going well just start from day one (Keep on doing the routine of day one) slowly but surely the momma cat might get used to the kitten and act like its the mother again or the momma might not like the kitten but will soon learn that the kitten has to live there. =) hope that's useful love hope2getacatgrl<333
