His beauty would overwhelm you!

Psalm ch 138:2 Says God exalted his word above his name so it would mean no more than seeing a King James Bible. We can't trust our eyes or our hearts so we can only trust in Gods Word.

Honestly I think if Jesus was real he was probably a pretty normal dude. The 'Bible' says that God made himself in man's image, and let's be honest, there's not too many humans out there that are picture portraits if you know what I mean. So given that Jesus had a giant beard, was a carpenter and lived in a time without any cosmetics, if you saw him today you'd probably mistake him for a stinky hobo. Which is just what he would have wanted.

For further evidence please see the climactic scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. His cup was pretty beat; if you think he's some sort of super model and drink from that pimp cup like the one dude, the earth will more than likely swallow you right up.

What did Jesus mean when he said believe for the very works' sake?

Here is the Scripture that you refer to: Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake (John 14.11) Jesus said this in response to Philip's question, "Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us." (John 14.8) Philip was one of Jesus' twelve disciples and had seen many of Jesus' miracles, and Jesus was reminding him that: "he that hath seen me hath seen the Father;" (John 14.9) And - "he doeth the works." (John 14.10) And so Jesus' works prove his statement: Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? (John 14.10)
