good:1. cydia, ice, and rock(apps that allow you to get free apps.suggested one is cydia.)2. themes. you could get themes to put in your backround(suggested theme is ElectricBlue video.)3.SB settings is a really good app that you could get from cydia. that allows you to get a percentage of your battery life plus many other things such as wifi, brightness, bluetooth and things of that nature. very helpful.4.Installous: My favorite app that is available at cydia. Installous allows you to get apps from the itunes store for free. Say you have an app you really want,but it is 10.00$ and you dont want to spend the money. just go to installous, press search, type in the name of the app, select the one that you want and download the app. There you have it. Any app from the itunes store for free. You must first add some sources at cydia that can be found at youtube. Note: installous is illegal but i can assure you that nobody gets caught.

Bad: Jailbreaking your ipod touch is very helpful but comes with flaws such as:1. in some cases makes your ipod slower(not significantly but somewhat slower.)2. you must follow the jailbreak designed for your firmware. (Jailbreaks for firmware 3.0 may not be the same for firmware 3.1.2.)3. freezes may occur directly after you jailbroke your ipod touch. the freeze wont let you turn off tour ipod. so to fix that problem just restore your ipod and try the jailbreak over.4. this is very important. you must restore your ipod touch before you jailbreak. if you dont do that you run the risk of technical problems on your ipod such as freezes and deletion of songs and apps.
