Absolutly nothing. Lithium is to control mood swings basically (my brother takes it) plus it takes a while for someone to have the effects of the medication, so if you just wanted to try it one day, don't expect to feel any different.
Lithium is a salt. If you are not bipolar, you will still have the same unpleasant side effects of lithium - diarrhea, nausea, tremor in the hands and fingers, excessive thirst, and excessive urination.
Lithium is also one of those medications where the dose needed to treat the illness is VERY close to the dose which causes poisoning symptoms. People who take lithium must have regular check-ups and blood tests to be sure that the level of drug is not too high.
