The massospondylus was an ancestor of sauropods from the early Jurassic period. It was a facultative biped, and probably used its forearms to grasp food, which I'm guessing consisted of foliage from trees. It was primarily a herbivore, but was also omnivorous. It had been suggested that it was a carnivore, but this theory has been discredited.
