He thinks Romeo is a coward.
He thinks Romeo is a coward.
Mercutio thinks that Romeo will not fight Tybalt because he is afraid of him.
Romeo refused to fight Tybalt because he was secretly married to Tybalt's relative Juliet. His friend Mercutio didn't know this and took up Tybalt's challenge instead, thinking Romeo was being a coward and got killed for his trouble.
At first, Romeo does not want to fight with Tybalt because he is now married to his kinswoman, Juliet. This makes Romeo and Tybalt of the same family, and Romeo does not want to fight his own.
The deadly fight between Romeo and Tybalt was not inevitable. It was a result of a series of misunderstandings and impulsiveness on both sides. If they had taken a moment to think rationally or if circumstances had been different, the fight could have been avoided.
Mercutio forces the fight on Tybalt. Tybalt is really only interested in Romeo, but Romeo is not disposed to quarrel with his wife's cousin. Mercutio takes up the quarrel on Romeo's behalf for no reason other than that he is quarrelsome. Mercutio and Tybalt fought because Tybalt had challenged Romeo to a fight but Mercutio knew that Romeo was not strong enough to fight Tybalt so Mercutio took the burden of fighting Tybalt and eventually dies when he is stabbed by Tybalt under Romeo's arm. Romeo had ran out to block the fight and Mercutio got stabbed. Tybalt leaves, and then returns clearly angry. He is then slain by Romeo and the Prince, Montague, and Capulet and Lady Capulet come out. Romeo exits, and Romeo is banished.
He thinks he's a coward. "Oh, calm, dishonourable, vile submission."
lions will fight for fun, to see who is dominant and to impress females such as myself....... why do you think boys fight..... same reason.
well mercutio did have a was pretty aggressive he didn't like the Capulet's at all he would fight for the Montague's. mercutio was a troublemaker but always protected romeo i think he thought romeo was too young for those type of things
Mantua is where Romeo is. He's been banished there for killing Tybalt. The friar has to send a message to Romeo so that Romeo will find out about the plan for Juliet to fake her death, or Romeo will think Juliet is actually dead. ***SPOILER*** The reason Romeo and Juliet died was because the letter never actually got to Romeo.
Rosaline. The last they heard, she was the one Romeo was after.
In Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," the young men are fighting due to a longstanding feud between their families, the Montagues and the Capulets. The feud has fueled a climate of hostility and violence between the two households, causing frequent clashes between their members.
