It stands for "Mint State 67" and it would be in quite good shape indeed. Coins are graded on a 70 point scale called the "Sheldon Scale," where MS-1 is "Poor" (just barely identifiable) and MS-70 is perfect (and well-nigh unattainable). MS-60 and above is Uncirculated (that is, there is no wear on the coin from having been passed from hand to hand in commerce), but MS-60 may have a dull surface and a lot of "bag marks" (small dings from having been placed at the mint in large bags of coins for transport), while MS-67 is pretty close to perfect (a few hairline scratches, or not quite a perfect surface). Rating between MS-60 and MS-70 is best left to the professionals - it's not easy to do without experience, and an error can cost a lot - depending on the coin in question, an MS-67 could easily be worth twice, or more, an MS-65 of the same coin, and the untrained eye might not notice a difference.

What is MS67 coin?

MS67 is a really, really nice coin. 70 is the highest you can get and there really aren't many. The coins in your pocket are probably 5 or 10 out of 70. Maybe 20 if one is really nice.

How much is a 1918 walking liberty half dollar worth?

July 7, 2009 The value of the 1918 Walking Liberty half dollar varies considerably depending upon which mint it was produced at and the condition of it. The mint mark is located on the reverse [tails] side of the coin just to the left of the letter "H" in the word "HALF". The letter "D" represents the US mint at Denver, the letter "S" represents the US Mint at San Francisco and if there is no letter then the coin was minted at the US Mint at Philadelphia. The value of the 1918 Philadelphia coin ranges from about $10 to $170 in circulated grades depending upon the actual condition of the coin. In the uncirculated grades this coin's value ranges from about $600 in MS60 to about $13,000 in MS67. The value of the 1918 Denver coin ranges from about $12 to $260 in circulated grades depending upon the actual condition of the coin. In the uncirculated grades this coin's value ranges from about $1400 in MS60 to $57,500 in MS66. The value of the 1918 San Francisco coin ranges from about $10 to $65 in circulated grades depending upon the actual condition of the coin. In the uncirculated grades this coin's value ranges from about $550 in MS60 to $80,000 in MS67.

What does ms 67 mean in coin collecting?

Coins are graded according to their condition. The grades are expressed in letters and numbers from 1 to 70.. For example, a very worn coin may be graded as AG3 which would mean "almost good 3", the number indicates the coin is in poor condition and is low on the scale from 1 to 70. G4 would mean "good" and the 4 indicates the coin is in a little better condition than the AG3. You will find terms like "F12" meaning the coin is grades "fine 12", or you may see EF40 meaning the coin is "extra fine 40". A higher number indicates a better grade coin. . All coins that have never gone from hand to hand in daily business, will have the letters "MS" and then a number from 60 to 70. "MS" means "mint state" and refers to the condition of a new coin while it was at the mint. These coins that are never used after they leave the mint are called "uncirculated" [like new]. In your question you asked about MS67. This means the coin is in "mint state" [like new] and the 67 indicates it is of very high quality and nearing perfection.
