Odyseus
the most important thing in the The Cyclops is that Odyseus gets cursed by him and that's why it took him soo long to return to Ithica a
He gave Odyseus an herb to allow him to not be affected by her magic. He also carried a message to Calypso telling her to let Odyseus go.

Odysseus is embittered that Polyphemus has killed several of his men and wishes to taunt the cyclops. It is a matter of pride, and makes him feel like he has power over the cyclops and the situation, after being deprived of both earlier.

poseidon
I thought this was a stupid decision. Odysseus knew what the cyclops could do to him. He also knew that he had really ticked off the cyclops. By taunting him from his ship, he just made him more upset and almost killed his crew, as well as himself. Also by doing this, he got himself cursed by Posiden. I hope this helped!
Character against character.
Its Odysseus, not Odyddeus. One of them is where he hides himself, (or clokes himself with a magical item. One of the two...). And then he called him a name. The Cyclops, Polymyth, was angry, and asked, "who's there"? Odysseus said, "Nobody". Polymyth, being a cyclops, wasn't, the sharpest tool in the shed, and he thought "Nobody" was Odysseus's name. He threw boulders at the spot where he thought he heard it. That gave time for Odyseus to escape... Sorry, but I'm not sure what the second one was.
