It's not missing. The Philadelphia Mint started using the "P" mint mark on half dollars in 1980. the coin is 50 cents that's all.
About 10 cents. In Brilliant Uncirculated condition (which, pretty much by definition, you wouldn't find in pocket change), it might be worth 50 cents or so. "P", by the way, is the mintmark implying that the coin was produced at the Philadelphia mint.
