It is one of the most confusing terms in Spanish. One of the meanings is "for", and is is very commonly confused with "por", which also can mean "for".

Other meanings for para are: For, to, in order to, toward, wherefore, to the end that.

Literally, Spanish textbooks have whole chapters on this subject.

Example: "Trabajo para mi familia" and "Trabajo por mi familia" BOTH can be translated as "I work for my family", but have entirely different meanings in Spanish. The first would be "I work to benefit my family". The second would be more like "I work in place of my family", or various other things, depending on context.

It is a little unclear what you are asking. If it is "parque", it is the Spanish word for "park". If it is "por qué", then it is "why". And if it is "porque" it would be "because".

it means to wait in line, brits say it.
