It simply means that your jewelry has a coating of platinum over it. This does not devalue the silver in any way, instead it protects it. Platinum is much harder than silver/gold and does not tarnish easily, it is hypo-allergenic and still maintains a shine. It actually a while metal, which is actually very expensive since it was refined. Hope this helps. I have platinum jewelry for year, never regret buying AND I forgot to mention.. they are easy to clean.. Soap, Water and a Soft Cloth!
It means the ring is made of 14 k gold and Platinum! It does NOT mean it is plated....
If it's really gold-plated ( 10K / 14K / 18K ....) you don't want to plate it with silver for the gold using is the value of the jewelry. Do u mean yellow gold plated to white gold plated? If that's what you want, the answer is yes! You can have it plated to your desired color without changing the gold content!
Most likely that the piece of jewelry is gold plated with 24 karat gold, and the metal beneath is sterling silver.
I found and ID bracelet that says cccsterling on it. Is it a manufacturer or does it mean it's plated or is it plated sterling?
Gold plated over silver means that the ring is made of silver with a thin layer of gold plated to it. It is not solid gold but solid silver with gold on it.
I think it means silver plated

PSCL is an jewelry company out of Dublin, Ireland. The 925, you may find upsetting on a 'platinum' ring, as 925 is the designation for sterling silver (having a 92.5% silver content). To take the disappointment level down one more level I believe "PSCL" is short for silver clad or silver plated. Meaning not even solid sterling. PSCL doesn't mean clad or plated. If it says 925 it cannot be clad or plated. PSCL is the name of the designer or manufacturer.
That type of jewelry is called vermeil. It is made of sterling silver and plated with 14 karat gold, not solid gold.
It means it it gold plated with 14 karat gold . It is plated allot of the time on sterling silver or other types of metal .
925 is the mark for sterling silver, which is 92.5% silver. The BX is probably the manufacturer's mark. The gold jewelry is gold-plated sterling silver.
If a person sees the stamp KPJ on their jewelry, this indicates that the jewelry is not authentic. The jewelry is generally plated with gold or silver depending on the color of the metal.
