Pride often leads people to thinking they are better than they are. I turn, they might pick a fight with someone they couldn't beat, do a deal that makes them lose a lot, or do something they couldn't get away with. While not deadly in the form of actual lethality (although this might occur), it is the moral soul that is destroyed when somebody acts in such a way.
