Deal with a number, or amount.
I need to find out the housing and daily life in Timbuktu at the end of Leo Africanu's time period. and are the the three of Leo Africanus's obervations.
The mode is the most probable value, or the peak of the probability distribution curve. There might be more than one mode if the curve has more than one peak. The mean is the arithmetic average of all obervations. If the probability curve is symmetrical, the mean will be the same as the mode, or the same as the average of the modes. The median is the average of the two furthest outliers. Again, if the curve is symmetrical, the median, mode, and mean are all equal. Outliers, errors, fluctuations, assymmetries - they all change or tilt the results. Which method you use depends on what you want to know, and on how you want to use the results.
All meteorological charts are at a particular Greenwich Mean Time because that's when the obervations to draw the charts are performed, generally three-hourly from 00z (GMT) 03. 06 etc. It's too confusing to be drawing charts from observations at local time as that varies so much across and within countries. Also, numerical (computer) charts also need input of observations done at the same time (usually 00 and 12z), and they need to be in in reasonable time for the "run" to be made on the supercomputer as there is limited scope for adding data later.
Anything observed is a fact. A perceived fact, of course. Observed by two...blind experiment...observations validated... solid fact. Depending on your state of mind - a possible third, for stastistical measure might be in order, if documentation will be required. If stat diff occurs either the moment of the occurring fact has passed and credibilty reports, or you could carry it on out to a fourth and a fifth observer to lock it in...I mean, is it in fact a lamp, or a possible revelating piece of knowledge?
It mean what you don't what does it mean.
Mean is the average.
What does GRI mean? What does GRI mean?

The correct usage is "what DOES it mean"
he was a mean person who lived with mean people in a mean castle on a mean hill in a mean country in a mean continent in a mean world in a mean solar system in a mean galaxy in a mean universe in a mean dimension
No, but sometimes "average" means "mean" - when it doesn't mean median, geometric mean, or something else entirely.
He is as mean as a copperhead snakeHe is as mean as an angry bearHe is as mean as a bottle of brandyHe is as mean a black woman
