I am a rater for video games. My job is when a new game comes out, I need to look through it and rate it ( C, E, E10+, T, or M). The rating we give it doesn't show how old you need to be to play it, it shows what matureity level we recomend to play it. C games are for little kids that are usually under the age of 4. E is for people of all ages, but appeals more to younger kids. E10+ technically means everyone ten and up, but isn't bad for little kids. Games are usually rated E10+ because the game has mild fighting, such as Sky Landers. T games are rated T because they include themes that we think will appeal to teens and tweens. These games are usually racing games or profesional sports games like wwe of nba. Finally, in M games the M stands for mature. These games are "mature" because they usually consist of guns or gore. If you and your kids feel comfortable with this, M games are perfectly fine. I hope you found this usefull and are now able to make decisions on video games for your kids.
