EKG readers provide only some very basic information about the patterns of EKGs. Some may make notes of alterations that don't actually represent disease, such as sinus bradycardia. Talk with your doctor for specific information about what your EKG reading said, and about why the doctor believed the notation was not a cause for concern.

An EKG measures the sinus rhythm of the heart. Doing CPR will not change the EKG readings. The AED will provide a shock for V-Tach & V-Fib to try to reset the heart so it will regain the normal sinus rhythm

Sinus rhythm is the normal rhythm of the heart. The heart is beating between 60 and 100 beats per minute. An EKG would show a certain pattern like a sine curve, the top part when the heart contracts and the bottom part contracts sending blood through the body.

Sinus activiy is really not recorded on the ECG(EKG) only the atria's response to it. Hence, Sinus Arrest and Sinus Exit Block are determined on the basis of what we can see. The absense of the P wave and it's recurance at the next expected intereval is considered a Sinus Exit Block; meaning the sinus node did its job, but the impluse was blocked form the rest of the atria. The mechanism of such blocking is not fully understood at this point In sinus arrest the the pause is not accurate to the next expected cardiac cycle thus is considered a sinus arrest - meaning that something stopped the sinus node activity for a time (usually just seconds). Of the two Sinus Exit Block carries the least risk of symptoms for the patient.

The ECG sign of subendocardial ischemia is ST segment depression. Note that ECG is used more now that EKG.
