Ski-Doo SDI - a quite different and more economical route to low two-stroke emissions and fuel consumption. SDI stands for Semi-Direct Injection, and it describes a system by which fuel is injected, not into the combustion chamber, but into the fast-moving air streams in the rear transfer ports. Because injection into the transfer streams more than doubles the amount of time available for evaporation of the fuel droplets, specialized fuel injectors like those of Orbital and Ficht are not needed. Direct Injection must wait for the exhaust port to close before injection can begin, but with SDI, keeping fuel from reaching the exhaust is accomplished by the natural scavenging flow pattern of a high-powered two-stroke.
SDI stands for standard diesal injection
i have a 07 renegade 600 sdi. its deffintly fast. just last year i hit 107 and still had a little throttle to play with. Now we all know that stock spedos arent that acurate and are often called wishometers. But id guess top speed on a 600 sdi to be 95-100 mph and the 500 to be 90-95 mph (skidoos 500ss is the same displacement as the sdi).

SDI is a Single Document Interface. As opposed to MDI which is a Multiple Document Interface. the difference is solely in the number of documents that can be opened at one time in each instance of the application. With SDI only one document can be open whereas with MDI many documents can be open.

SDI is an abbrevation of Standard Digital Interface. It's most known use is as interface for digital video. It's currently used a lot for the high definition video.
If you want good fuel economy, the SDI is for you. If you want a lot of torque, your best bet is to go for the TDI. The SDI doesnt have a turbo but the TDI does.
