It means light or very light gauge.
It mean to play freelymfrom the string instead of resting of the string
First off it is called BASS guitar. Anyways, by name do you mean tuning wise? If so it's E (thickest string) A D G (thinnest string) Otherwise lets just call em bass guitar strings?
I assume you mean tension. tension is a stretching force in am object (e.g. string). If you dangle a yoyo from your hand the string is being stretched by the weight of the yoyo. If the weight of the yoyo = 1N then the tension = 1N.
Hitting a string then muting it right after gives it that djent sound
Yes, i do regularly. You will not get the same resonance as a steel string but you can and well.

This indicates the string E either high or low.

No, a string is not a verb. It is a noun that refers to a sequence of characters. However, the verb form of "string" can mean to thread or arrange things in a line, as in "to string beads on a necklace."
No. By Spanish guitar, you probably mean acoustic. And no, I started with an electric Epiphone Les Paul, and switched to a 12-string acoustic later on.
the actual 2nd string instrument is a harp and lyre. But if you mean string instrument as in the shape if a guitar it would be a fiddle/violin (their the same thing) made in the year of 1878!
im not sure but i think you can use fishing line i used it and i doesnt sound that bad
There could be a problem with your string winding technique. There are many different resources with diagrams showing how to restring a guitar properly. It could also be due to a problem with the actual tuner (at the top of the guitar headstock where the string is tightened) With age and stress- the components can become worn. In this case- you we need to repair or most likely replace the malfunctioning part. .
