What do snakes eat?

Snakes it many things according to their size and type. They basically eat small animals that live in their environment.

For example:

Rainforest snakes eat frogs and desert snakes eat reptiles because that is what is available in their habitat.

They can also eat larger prey like wallabies and small kangaroos. There are some species of small pythons which can eat prey as small as geckos.

So really, it depends on what species of snake it is but hopefully I have answered most of it for you.

The majority of snakes are rodent eaters. Some of the larger python species can eat prey as large as a gazelle ! There are also snakes that eat fish, worms, termites or bird eggs.
