Sodium is too dangerous to hold directly. On contact to air sodium reacts quickly to form a layer of sodium peroxide and sodium nitride, and will form sodium hydroxide on contact with the moisture in you hand. These are strong bases.
However, if it could be felt safely its texture would probably be similar to that of cold butter.
Basically it is the sodium in salt. Think of alka seltzer, sodium bicarbonate, has a somewhat salty taste when you drink it. That and the fact that salt breaks into Na+ and CL- ions when it comes into contact with water one can surmise that it is in fact the sodium you are tasting.
I doubt anyone has ever tasted sodium. Sodium reacts violently with water, and the major constituent of saliva is water. Tasting it would cause great injury and burns. However, sodium chloride a molecule of sodium and chlorine is salt, which tastes salty.
Sodium taste likes Salt, It is used for baking, salt and light bulbs
Sodium oxalate is soluble just like all sodium compounds.
Sodium is a very reactive metal. It doles not occur freely in nature. It is found in the form of its salts like sodium chloride, sodium bromide etc
Calcium will bond with chlorine, but not with sodium. Sodium is a metal like calcium, so they will not bond with each other.
sodium is a solid at room temperature. like its in a salt shaker..!!
Cocaine
Sodium chloride doesn't feel oily.
No
Sodium is a greyish white solid.
any sodium like sodium chloride is good for preservation in meats
Sodium iodide, like all sodium compounds, is ionic.
Sodium oxalate is soluble just like all sodium compounds.
Sodium Phosphate just looks like plain ol' table salt.
sodium is salt, so it makes you retain water, which makes you bloat so you will feel fat, not necessarily look fat.
Like all sodium compounds, it is ionic.
Because they feel like it ok. Because they feel like it ok. Because they feel like it ok. Because they feel like it ok. Because they feel like it ok. Because they feel like it ok. Because they feel like it ok. Because they feel like it ok. Because they feel like it ok.
Pure sodium is a metal. It bonds fairly easily with halogens (such as chlorine, to make table salt), and it reacts quite violently when put in contact with water (explodes). Other than that, I don't know too many specifics about pure sodium, so if anyone would like to take it from here, feel free.
