Destroy it. They need to chew constantly to curtail tooth growth. They chew their way into attics, leaving holes which will allow water and other vermin to get in as well, they shred your insulation for nesting material, they urinate and deficate where they're nesting, they breed, etc. They may also chew into wiring, causing a fire hazard. No matter how "cute" you think they are, they are a nuisance and a danger once they've found their way into your home.

I am not sure which president fits this description, but I do know that President Eisenhower's staff removed three squirrels that were digging up Ike's favorite putting green on the White House grounds. It wasn't that the president hating squirrels-- he hated what they were doing to his golf game. On the other hand, President Reagan became rather fond of the White House squirrels, and on one of his presidential Christmas cards, he had a picture of a squirrel running across the lawn.
