How did Jesus redeem us?
Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the law. He is the only one who lived a sinless life. He is God in the flesh, not just a human. The Bible clearly states this.John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:14 "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth."The Bible also tells us that Jesus is the propitiation for our sins, or satisfaction.1 John 2:1-2 "My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world."Notice "He Himself." He is the only one or thing that can satisfy the payment. The Watchtower Society as stated below has it mostly right, but are actually an antichrist by not believing in Jesus as God.Romans 10:9 "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;"Philippians 2:9-11 "For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."1 John 2:22 "Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son."On the cross Jesus had the weight of every sin commited from before, and every sin that will be commited until judgement. 1 Peter 2:24 "and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed."Another answerIt has to do with the fact that we are decendants of Adam, who rebelled against God, and lost future life prospects for himself, and his children. Here is an exerpt from the book,"You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth," published by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society that touches on this subject."This was because Adam, the forefather of all of us, had rebelled against God. His lawless act thus made him a sinner, since the Bible explains that sin is lawlessness. (1 John 3:4; 5:17) As a result, he was not worthy of receiving God's gift of everlasting life. (Romans 6:23) So Adam lost for himself perfect human life on a paradise earth. He also lost this wonderful prospect for all the children he would produce. But why, you may ask, did all his children have to die, since it was Adam who sinned?"This is because Adam, when he became a sinner, passed sin and death on to his children, including all humans now living. (Job 14:4; Romans 5:12) All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, the Bible says. (Romans 3:23; 1 Kings 8:46) Even godly David said: With error I was brought forth with birth pains, and in sin my mother conceived me. (Psalm 51:5) People, therefore, have been dying because of the sin that was inherited from Adam. How was it possible, then, for the sacrifice of Jesus life to free all people from bondage to sin and death?"A legal principle in God's law for the nation of Israel is involved. It states that life should be given for life. (Exodus 21:23; Deuteronomy 19:21) By his disobedience the perfect man Adam lost perfect life on a paradise earth for himself and all his children. Jesus Christ gave his own perfect life to buy back what Adam lost. Yes, Jesus gave himself a corresponding ransom for all. (1 Timothy 2:5, 6) Because he was a perfect man, even as Adam had been, Jesus is called the last Adam. (1 Corinthians 15:45) No human other than Jesus could have provided the ransom. This is because Jesus is the only man who ever lived that was equal to Adam as a perfect human son of God." --Psalm 49:7; Luke 1:32; 3:38.We inherited our sinful condition from our forefather, Adam, just as a dent in a cake pan will cause all cakes made in that pan, to have that same indentation. Adam could only pass on to us imperfection, since he had lost his perfect life and his future life prespects.Jehovah God's perfect law requires that the scales of justice must be balanced. That in order to redeem mankind, the value of a perfect human life must be given in exchange for what was lost, a perfect human life. Jesus came to Earth as a perfect human. Not God, not a God-man, but the equal of Adam, a perfect human. That is why the Bible calls Jesus,"the last Adam," at 1 Cor 15:45.When Jesus died, he had not sinned. He had the right to live on eternally here on the Earth, as Adam would have, if he would not have sinned. But because Jesus died faithfully, he could return to heaven, and present the value of his perfect life to his father as atonement for what Adam lost. Thereby making it possible to undo that damage caused by Adam to his offspring.Here, we see demonstrated some eye opening things. Number one, the love that Jehovah has for his human creation, that he would send his only son, the "firstborn of all creation,"(Colossians 1:15) to the Earth to suffer and die on our behalf. Secondly the love that Jesus himself has for his father and mankind, to willingly do this. Third, the regard that Jehovah has for his own law, that being the principle of a "life for a life, like for like." Such regard that he will not side step his own perfect law. These are all sobering things to contemplateAnother answerMandate of Israel:G-d made a covenant of LIFE with Israel. The Covenant has to do with fulfilling the minimum requirements for the Citizenship in Heaven. Israel was failing. Israel was heading for destruction then. If Israel is destroyed, then all the promises, covenants, promises, treatises oaths and statements that G-D had made for and on behalf of Israel becomes obsolete. That would make G-D a liar. That is unacceptable. This would result in the destruction of humanity since the requirements on the side of humanity could not be achieve. But, G-D in all His Righteousness and Grace, provided for us a means of escape.Since we cannot, in ourselves, fulfill the requirements, HE provided for us a human who can. Yeshua, by redeeming Israel in the Covenant, enabled the rest of humanity to salvation. It was Israel's transgressions and failures that Yeshua forgave and redeem, not the gentile's. Gentiles have to be engrafted into the Faith of Israel (the OLIVE TREE) for a share of that forgiveness. All the gentiles during the time of the Apostles were enjoined in one of the Messianic Synagoues (Jewish) for acceptance into the Faith. They were not instructed to create their own faith-system or religion apart from, instead of, irregardless of or parallel to the Faith, Covenant and Congregation of Israel.It was not Yeshua's death that reedemed Israel. It was Yeshua's perfect fulfilment of the Torah by perfect obedience that did so. Yeshua gave proof that Israel did have to die because someone from the Covenant side of Israel was able to fulfill the Agreement made at the foot of Mount Horev.If Israel is destroyed or corrupted beyond redemption, then G-D will destroy humanity. G-d made HIS Covenant with Israel, not with the gentiles or the church. This is what Yeshua meant to the Samaritan woman when He said that salvation is of the Jews.note: all the anti-semitic, anti-Zionist and anti-Israel activities are parts of stn's agenda to de-rail G-D's own appointments. Stn can damage G-D's Glory(credibilty, righteousness, grace, etc.) by making HIM a liar. Without Israel, all of G-d's statements regarding His godhood becomes moot. Israel is likened to the iris of G-d's eyes. Harming Israel or the Jewry is like poking at the iris of His eyes. He also said that he created Israel to prove His Glory and that He can allow the rest humanity to be destroyed, but, not Israel.
