Although known as the "tailless scorpion" or "whip spider", Amblypygi are a separate order of arachnids that have the long legs of Spiders but the hard outer exoskeleton of scorpions. They are tropical organisms in the West Indies islands and South America.

They are mostly carnivorous and cast their two long front legs (whips) to snare moths and other insects.
