Deuteronomy defines leadership and what a leader shoul be.
First it states that once we have settled into our land we will seek a leader. God then identifies what we should seek in a in a leader. Our leader must be chosen of God and we are to simply select from the chosen. He is to be a Godly man and he is not to need a an army for protection - He should not have many horses. He is not to become rich from his role as leader. He should have the book of law at his side at all times, He must follow the law. He is not to have many wives-His wife is to give him advice and be his confidant. He is not to be lustful and desirous of self pleasure. He should turn to God in seeking counsel. He is to judge with a Godly heart.
