What does the Qur'an say about the big bang?

•The "big bang" theory simply states that the universe was created approx 13 billion years ago and that it started as an infinitely dense point of energy/matter which expanded to become the universe we have now (and is still expanding) and before then energy, matter, time and space did not exist. The alternative to the "big bang" theory is the "steady state universe" theory which states everything has always existed, i.e. it was not created, and that it, matter, time and space have always existed (i.e. are uncreated)

All the scientific evidence points to the fact that the universe WAS created, they can even estimate when that moment of creation was, and also they can say that time and space were created at the same time as energy and matter. Also, the laws of physics do not apply until the universe was created, meaning whatever (whoever!!) created the universe is NOT subject to the laws of physics, but created/wrote the laws of physics.

What does the Qur'an say....... Allah created the universe. So according to the Qur'an, which is correct: "big bang" theory, or "steady state universe" theory? Well big bang obviously because that says that the universe was created (including time and space) and that Allah has dominion not only over energy and matter but over time and space too and wrote the laws of physics.

The idea that the "big bang" theory provides some kind of alternative explanation to Allah creating the universe is a complete myth founded by atheists who don't understand physics. Using purely scientific means (without referring to the Qur'an) there is NO WAY anyone can say what caused the big bang to happen, its an unanswered question to those who use purely scientific means to explain the origins of the universe. However that which scientists CAN tell about the creation of the universe fits in with what the Qur'an says.

Anyone who tells you that the big bang happened as a "random chance" event does not understand physics!!! The best any scientist can say is "we don't understand and can't begin to find out what caused the big bang (for big bang, read "creation of the universe")....... many physicists are theists (i.e they believe in God).

Also remember that "big bang" is a really stupid name for the theory, because people think of some random explosion happening within space and time which scattered matter everywhere. THIS IS A MYTH perpertrated by those who don't understand physics........ to really understand it you need to read a lot about physics, a good book would be "black holes, wormholes and time machines" by Jim Al-Khalili
