How many huts where in Auschwitz camp?

by meaning 1 hut, i think you mean either How many people were in 1 concentration camp or 1 hut as a gas chamber at Auschwitz I well i tell both Depending on which concentration camp, theirs hundreds of them with spaces but i use a popular common camp and that is Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Auschwitz II-Birkenau has a max cap of 2.1 million people. Red house hut was a hut only for gas chamber prisoners and it could kill up to 12,500 prisoners at a time

How were prisoners lured to gas chambers?

There were various methods employed. One very common one was the promise of refreshments. It as common practice for the Germans to keep the victims dehydrated, this made them less likely to resist, so when they arrived they would be told that after a shower they would recieve some tea and bread, if they behaved. One common early method at Auschwitz was the offer of work, the officer in charge would ask people what they had done previously, then tell them that there were jobs for people who did that, and that they just needed to shower first, then they could get to work. Another method was to get fellow Jews (Sonderkommando) to tell them that everything would be ok, they just needed to shower and they had to tie their shoes together so that they didn't lose one whilst they were in the shower (where as they tied them together to make them easier to collect).

Why did death marches occur?

As the Soviet Army approached the Auschwitz complex of camps, the SS tried to move the prisoners, on foot, westwards to Gross-Rosen. The prisoners were already weak from undernouishment and the forced march took place in the winter. Many died. (There were also death marches from other camps). Death marches is a name given to the forced movement of prisoners that resulted in high casualties along the route. Stalag IIB was evacuated and moved during the last days of the war(similiar to conditions described above). The most famous one was the transfer of the US Army prisoners captured in the Phillippines soon after the US entered the war. After their capture on the pennisular of Bataan, the Japanese marched them north to prison camps without enough food and supplies for them. Many died along the route but many others who could not keep up with the pace were shot or bayonetted. This became known as the Bataan Death March.

What impact did Auschwitz have on those held there?

Depend on who your on about The SS officers/guards or the prisoners at Auschwitz well i tell both anyway The impacts towards the SS man their and the guards was nothing much because they was indutrinated to believe that Jews were evil, fillthy and greedy, whiles germany was a superior aryan race. The guards and ss men their actully had wild partie, eithen if they killed some people that day But befor the gas chambers was used in Auschwitz, their was shootings and some people who done the shootings went mentally insane and some did commit suicidem thats why gas chambers was used, also the bullets was too expensive and left a bloody mess. On the prisoners their, it was tottaly the oppisite, People was scared for their lives, Being totured or/and hearing others being tortued or killed was seriously hurtful and unbarrible for the prisoners their. Most people starved themselves to death because they were scared of being gased to death.
