it protects it from UV lights that can cause melanoma cancer

the sun produces 2 different kinds of light and one of them stays in earth for warmth

the other UV light is like a bad friend you cant get rid of it and by the time you do someone (the earths surface) is kind enough to brake you away but there are still parts of it with you (someof the UV light is absorbed into earth and that is why we get melanoma sometimes) the thing that there is a lot more complicated things to do with this and one is global warming but that's another question
