Obviously they are not called deadly for nothing.
The combinations of the words: "seven deadly sins" is not in the Bible.
According to The Bible... "...SIN IS the TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW." (I John 3:4)Paul tells us that law is the Ten Commandments."What shall we say then? Is the law sin? GOD FORBID. Nay, I had not known sin, but BY the law: for I had not known LUST, except the law had said, THOU SHALT NOT COVET." (Rom.7:7)The law that says "thou shalt not covet" is the "tenth commandment." These laws "define" sin... according to the Bible. The punishment [or the wages we earn] for the breaking of these laws is "death." That makes them "deadly."Therefore, the "deadly sins" listed in the Bible are found in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5... but, they are "Ten"... not seven.Roman Catholic AnswerThe Seven Deadly Sins: PrideGreedLustAngerGluttonyEnvySlothare a catechical formulation which, as such, are not found in the Bible. Nothing that I know of. The Bible is not about compensation, but rather about undeserved mercy and forgiveness for our sins through out Lord Jesus Christ.
Wait to have sex until you are married and repent for previous sins.
There are no such "seven deadly sins" mentioned in the bible (as in the translations such as the NIV, King James, Good News, etc.) - I hear it's a Roman Catholic teaching but can't vouch for that.If that makes you feel better, you won't like what the bible does say about sin: that the wages of sin are death - and that doesn't matter whether the sin is mass murder or stealing Mars bars, or that only sins as an adult count - you're either guilty or your're not. Furthermore, the bible says that all mankind has sinned and fallen short of the standard of God; our selfish natures can't help but sin, against each other, against ourselves, against God, so ultimately we're all doomed to death of the soul.If that's the case, they why are Christians, who understand this better than most, so full of praise to God for what seems to us an impossible situation? I won't spoil it for you by doing the answer injustice in a few sentances, I just suggest you go ask a few how they can acknowledge their own sinfulness in the light of God's holiness yet be so happy. Good news indeed!

There are verses in the Bible that mention receiving a blessing in return for giving generously, such as Luke 6:38 which says, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." While the specific figures of seven or tenfold are not explicitly mentioned in the Bible in this context, the principle of blessings being returned for generosity is found throughout scripture.

No, it does not say that; but there is another thing the Bible says in relation to your question: Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure (1Timothy 5.22)
Mat 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
