Plugged EGR passage which restricts the flow of exhaust gasses, faulty EGR solenoid, faulty EGR solenoid wiring/harness, vacuum lines damaged or disconnected to the EGR valve solenoid or to the EGR valve, or a faulty EGR valve.
The thermostat for a 1996 Ford Aspire with a 1.3 cc engine is located in the engine compartment, typically near the engine's water outlet. To access it, you usually need to remove the upper radiator hose connected to the thermostat housing. The thermostat is housed within this component, which regulates coolant flow to maintain the engine's operating temperature. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual for specific details and instructions.
I know that on a 1995 it is located in the rear driver's side of the engine compartment. Although if you just follow the fuel line (it should have a flow arrow on it) from the engine block out it will run into the fuel filter.
On a 1994 Ford Aspire, the resonator is part of the exhaust system, located between the catalytic converter and the muffler. Its primary function is to reduce noise and improve exhaust flow. You can typically find it underneath the vehicle, along the exhaust piping.
Trouble code P0400 means:Exhaust gas recirculation-flow malfunction
EGR Flow malfunction
P0403 = EGR Flow circuit malfunction.
It could be a tear in your air cleaner hose. The hose from your air filter to the throttle body. If the mass air flow sensor does not have enough air suction ( or enough volume of air) going across it it will shut down the engine.
I would look into a stuck open, or jammed Egr Valve.
Trouble code P0402 means: Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Excessive Detected
To drain the radiator on a 1995 Ford Aspire, first make sure the engine is cool and then locate the radiator drain plug at the bottom of the radiator. Place a container underneath to catch the coolant, then open the drain plug and allow the coolant to flow out completely. After draining, close the drain plug securely and refill the radiator with new coolant as needed. Always dispose of the old coolant properly, as it is toxic.
Just because a code that is titled to a particular system is noted does not mean that component is bad. Check the passageway.
My book shows it to mean: Evaporative purge flow sensor fault.
