There are multiple designs for the first penny but generally it had lady Liberty on the obverse (heads side of the coin) and the denomination on the reverse (tails side of the coin).
The US coin looks very much like a modern US penny
the moshling is called penny ;)
The coin is still in circulation and only face value.
If it looks like a zinc plated penny, it is possible that the copper plating is not on the coin. It could be missing due to an error at the mint which would make it collectable or it could have been removed by someone after the coin left the mint. In that case the coin is vauled at one cent. I'm not certain what you see next to Lincoln. I would suggest that you take the coin to a coin dealer and have it inspected. By doing this you will have someone who can actually see the coin and perhaps tell you what you need to know about it.
coin like the penny is a coin.
Some cents tone to a color that looks like gold but the US has never made a gold one cent coin. It's a penny.
The coin is so very common circulated coins are 2 cents, one that looks like new is 10 cents.
Look at the coin again. The first US one cent coin was struck in 1793.
the first coin is the big silver thing on the shelf that looks like a platter. The second one is a penny and is on the second from bottom shelf on the right in front of a copper colored book.
The coin is 75% copper and 25% nickel, so the coin is likely face value the date is still in circulation.
