The stars on the American flag represent the number of states inthe Union. For that reason, the appearance of the American flag haschanged many times over the years. The lasttwo stars were added in 1959, when Alaska and Hawaii joined theUnion, bringing the number of states -- and the number of stars onthe flag -- from 48 to the present 50. The flag has not changedsince then. . The stripes represent the 13 original colonies. ( Full Answer )

red for courage, white for purity, and blue for justice. Answer Officially, the colors of the flag have no meaning. The above meaning is derived from a discussion of the colors at the adoption of the Seal of the United States, and is often misinterpreted to give meaning to the colors of the fla…g itself. However, no law or Congressional legislation or other Executive declaration has ever defined the meaning of the colors in the flag. ( Full Answer )
Red= The armymens blood from the war, White= Courage from the armymen and Blue= Justice from the armymen because they won the war!!
It is an honorable enrichment only, not an integral part of the flag. As it is attached on the edge, it does not "deface" the flag which therefore remains the Stars and Stripes of the US (as per the opinion of the US Attorney General in 1925). The fringe is used only inside or on a staff when carrie…d outside by a bearer, it is never flown from a staff or pole outside (the fringe would fray). As there is no wind to move a flag when inside, the gold fringe adds an element of "prettiness", nothing more. The US is indeed prone to having a fringe more than other countries but most national flags have a fringe in some circumstances and no other country attributes any meaning to the fringe except that it looks better. There are many posts that posit the theory that the fringe represents martial or admiralty law. However there is no law, decree, order or other legally enforceable proclamation that mentions the fringe, either to prescribe or proscribe its use. Many quote Executive Order 10834 (under President Eisenhower) however this is a public document available in full on the Internet (try the US Archives) and a review will show no mention of a fringe at all. US Army Orders (840-10) do make the use of the fringe obligatory inside, but these apply to the US Army only. The law that defines the flag and its use is USC Title 4 Chapter 1 - again a public document whose provisions are enforceable in a federal court. There is nothing that says that a civilian or civilian organisation may not fly a flag with a gold fringe. Strangely, although admiralty law applies to ships, the fringe is never flown on a ship, surely an inconsistency. ( Full Answer )

Blue is the color of the chief. It signifies perseverance ,vigilance and last but not least justice.
The colors of the US flag came from the colors of the British flag. The resolution that created the flag in 1777 did not say anything about the symbolism of the colors. When the Great Seal of the United States was adopted in 1782, the explanation of the seal said: "The colours of the pales are th…ose used in the flag of the United States of America; White signifies purity and innocence, Red, hardiness & valor, and Blue, the colour of the Chief signifies vigilance, perseverance & justice." However, this was an after-the-fact explanation, because the flag had already existed for 5 years before it was written. ( Full Answer )

The flag that covers a casket in a military funeral is very large. Etiquette says the flag may not touch the ground. Folding the flag in a triangle shape makes it far easier to carry and the end is tucked in so that it doesn't unfold.. I have read that there is no meaning to the number of folds pla…ced in the flag -- the are solely determined by the length of the flag. ( Full Answer )

It looks pretty. It has no other meaning. That's actually not true. The reason there is a gold rim is because of Admiralty Law. Whenever you see a gold rim on a flag it means you are accepting the use of Admiralty Law when you testify or have representation within that court. It basically is a …set of laws that governs corporate actions. It is derived from Maritime Law. You as a person are a corporate entity of yourself in a Admiralty Law court. There is ALWAYS a monetary value attached to court decisions in this type of system. UK, US, Canada, Australia and other countries legal systems and governments are based on this Admiralty Law. Whenever you see your name in all capital letters that is your "corporate identity". Your drivers license birth certificate social security card and anything else pertaining to the government, debts, or trading of goods or services will have your name in all capital letters. This is not you it is your fake corporation set up at your birth to keep track of all your debts public and private. hope this helps a little. ( Full Answer )

Not sure but this is what i do know. The stars and stripes of the American flag originated as a result of a resolution adopted by the Marine Committee of the Second Continental Congress at Philadelphia on June 14, 1777. The resolution read:. Resolved, that the flag of the United States be t…hirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field representing a new constellation.. The resolution gave no instruction as to how many points the stars should have, nor how the stars should be arranged on the blue union. Consequently, some flags had stars scattered on the blue field without any specific design, some arranged the stars in rows, and some in a circle. The first Navy Stars and Stripes had the stars arranged in staggered formation in alternate rows of threes and twos on a blue field. Other Stars and Stripes flags had stars arranged in alternate rows of four, five and four. Some stars had six points while others had eight. Strong evidence indicates that Francis Hopkinson of New Jersey, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, was responsible for the stars in the U.S. flag. At the time that the flag resolution was adopted, Hopkinson was the Chairman of the Continental Navy Board's Middle Department. Hopkinson also helped design other devices for the Government including the Great Seal of the United States. For his services, Hopkinson submitted a letter to the Continental Admiralty Board asking "whether a Quarter Cask of the public Wine will not be a proper & reasonable Reward for these Labours of Fancy and a suitable Encouragement to future Exertions of a like Nature." His request was turned down since the Congress regarded him as a public servant. ( Full Answer )
