Some regions or towns, where agriculture is a relevant economical activity, have festivities related to the harvest disguised as religious celebration. I'm not very versed in the catholic religion, but seems to me that every rural region has it's own "Santo Patrono" (saint) which is believed to have a special influence in the agricultural matters.
