Ordem e Progresso ("Order and Progress") is the national motto of Brazil.
Specifically, the national motto was inspired by the positivist motto of French philosopher Auguste Comte (January 17, 1798-September 5, 1857): 'L'amour pour principe et l'ordre pour base; le progrès pour but' ("Love as a principle and order as the basis; progress as the goal"). Comte was admired by the members of the military coup that turned Brazil into a republic on November 15, 1889.
