Jesus was called the Lord of David because he indeed was the Christ or the Annointed One of God. David was not sent from heaven. God didn't send David to save sinful man. No, he choose Jesus Christ to send; to die directly upon that Cross and to be betrayed in the hands of man for our sin, once and for all. He became sin, who was sinless, meaning all sins that the world created, he put it to death at Calvary on the Cross. It pleased God for him to crush his only Son for all of our sins. And for another, David made mistakes, he slipped up and sinned by lusting after Bathsheiba, and then having premarital sex with her. And the Lord Jesus Christ says, "If a man is not married, he committs adultery when lusting or having sex before marriage occurs. David was not born of a holy virgin, no he was born like anyone else in the World, simply by sexual activity of a man and woman in marriage.

Then Jesus asked Peter, who do YOU say that I am, and Peter replied, You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Jesus said blessed are you Simon, because man has not revealed this to you but this has been revealed to you by My Father in Heaven. We only know Jesus as Lord, when we believe by faith and it is revealed to YOU by the Holy Spirit of God!!
