∙ 14y agoHe was more mean than nice although he wasn't malicious or evil. His intentions in teaching Doodle how to walk, run and swim were motivated by his admitted desire not to have an invalid for a brother rather than a desire to help Doodle. When it was obvious that Doodle would not reach the goals Brother had set for Doodle's physical development, he ran from Doodle forcing Doodle to keep up with him at a pace his heart could not handle. This was done almost as a punishment for Doodle not living up to Brother's expectations. Brother could have been more sensitive to Doodle's condition. Although this lack of sensitivity ultimately led to Doodle's death, Brother never meant for that to happen and he genuinely remorseful after Doodle died.

Teaching doodle to walk because Brother (the Narrator) is embarrassed of doodle is is trying to teach doodle to walk but doodle does not really care about walking or of any of the things brother wants him to do but he goes with it anyway to make his brother happy even though brother never is really all throughout the story 2. The narrator is unreliable throughout the entire story. We don't know what really happend. The narrator (Brother) could be adding in "fake details" or even leaving out important details as if he is trying to hide something.
