Chrysler merged with Mercedes Benz in 1998 but was sold in 2007 severing all ties with Mercedes Benz. The Italian auto company Fiat now owns majority interest in Chrysler LLC. The only relationship left is that Chrysler still buys some parts from Mercedes for the 2003-2009 Sprinter vans.
