The P mint mark on any U.S. coin means it was struck in Philadelphia.

D = Denver

Older coins from Philadelphia generally don't have mint marks. Other ones you may see are

S = San Francisco, up to 1954 and on a few dates of dimes, nickels, and cents up to 1974

O = New Orleans, up to 1909
