I think that you mean "pistol" instead of "positive". I have one of these and it is indeed a pistol. Was that the question? "Police Positive" was a Colt trade name. If the revolver has a square grip it is probably the model known as the "new police" and if it has a rounded grip it is probably the model known as the civilian "new pocket". It's hard to believe but the little dinky .32 revolvers were the standard Police issue around the turn of the 20th century.
"positive action" It was an advertising slogan, used by Colt, to help the model stand out from all the other guns being sold at the time.
The B prefix is just part of the assigned serial number of Colt police positive special revolvers. It was assigned beginning in 1970 with B01001 and ending in 1972 with B59999.
A .45 caliber Colt revolver- a handgun.
colt made single action revolvers in 1884. Do you mean 1984 ????
Nothing.
Does the person who asked this question really mean "Colton" and not "Colt"?
It could be the benchmark of the gunsmith who assembled the revolver.
Made for England
Colt Peacemaker refers to a revolver. 70 series pistol in 22 refers to a semi-automatic. Which one do you mean?
ACP stands for Automatic Colt Pistol. It is used to differentiate two bullets of the same caliber when one is for a pistol and one is for a revolver. For instance, .45 Colt is for a revolver, and .45 ACP is for a pistol. Other than the .45 inch measurement, the two have nothing in common and are not interchangeable; the .45 ACP cannot be used in a revolver chambered for .45 Colt and vice versa. The cartridge length and capacity are just two of the factors that make each different from the other.
