The frontal lobes mostly control personality and emotion. If there is damage to the left frontal lobe, the person may not have much emotion. If the right frontal lobe is damaged, the person will have extra strong emotion that they find difficult to control.

My daughter has damage to her right frontal lobe after an accident. She has difficulty in controlling emotion. An example would be that any child would be happy to be given ice cream as a reward for good behaviour, my daughter would be ecstatic. She's never annoyed; she's furious. Never despondant; always heartbroken.

Damage to the frontal lobes does not affect intelligence, but it interferes with personality and emotions, and because the person seems 'normal' in other ways, allowances are not made for them, and they can become social outcasts. These injured people might have no inhibitions and would think nothing of stripping off in public if they were too hot. In may cases, these skills can be relearned and will work well as long as they are not stressed out.
