What does the saying god helps them that help them selves mean?

It means that God helps people who try to help themselves and try to take care of themselves. He's not as willing to help people who assume they will get taken care of. As God though, he takes care of everyone.

It means...if you want something you have to work for and toward it, and in the working for and toward it, you will be blessed by your effort...

It is a warning against getting something for nothing...and justification by faith...

There is no salvation without acts of kindness and righteousness...there is no justification without works.

Faith is powerful, and can change your direction 180%...but sin can just as easily derail that direction change.

We trust in G-D...but work daily to justify God's trust in us.

And if you think that is a one way street...think again...of all that God has sacrificed for you...

He withdrew 1% of Her perfection to allow room for you, then sent his son to rectify you to Her, so what's left is all up to you...
