The sun's energy is provided by a process called stellar nucleosynthesis. Hydrogen nuclei in the sun's core are fused together to form helium. This reaction is an example of nuclear fusion. Generally, the fusion of two small nuclei produces an excess of energy. In the case of the sun some of this excess energy is emitted as solar radiation. We feel this radiated energy as light and heat. Our sun converts four million tonnes of matter into energy every second!

The sun IS the MAIN source of energy. Producers are plants who uses the sun to go through chemical reactions to make O2 and glucose ( a sugar ). The sun is the main source for everything. Then it's those big fan things that you see out in the country freeways that is powered by the wind to create energy efficiently.

.

To fully comprehend its importance, you should know that the Sun radiates more energy to the Earth in a minute than mankind can produce in a year.
