That answer is totally wrong I'm a Lingenfelter, Lingenfelter means from Lingenfeld a village in Germany, This name was given to Anstat Lingenfelder , (the first person to have the name) He lived around 1530, whom all Lingenfelders descend (Lingenfelder is how it was originally spelled), Lingenfelder means man from swampy fields in German.
