Cathode end
Diodes do not have a standardized color code like resistors. Instead, they typically have markings that indicate their type and specifications, such as the part number or manufacturer's logo. Some diodes may have a colored band or dot indicating polarity, with the band usually representing the cathode (negative side). For specific applications, it's best to refer to the datasheet for the diode in question.
There are so many different types of diodes. Some of the common examples include light emitting diodes, silicon diodes, zener diodes and so many more.
In some engines the lifter bore is offset in relation to the cam lobe. In others the cam lobes are tapered from side to side

A replacement blade can be put into a tapered shaft as long as the blade has a tapered hosel. A standard hosel blade will not fit into a tapered shaft. The tapered shaft must also actually be a shaft and not a recently broken one-piece stick. Some players try to cut broken blades off of one-piece sticks and then think they can replace the blade in the remaining shaft. This can work in principle but only at the expense of the natural performance of the stick. It is generally not recommended.
Some evidence indicates it does. Other studies indicate it does not. There is not enough on either side to make a definition.
Diodes are largely used for changing AC into DC. A half wave diode bridge will use two diodes for this purpose. A full wave bridge uses four diodes to accomplish this task.See related links below.
Sounds like inflamation which may indicate that there is some sort of infection.

possibly some of both, as well as various other components.
A forward biased diode is not a complete short. Depending on it's design, it will have some forward voltage drop. Silicon diodes normally hafe a drop around .7 V, germanium have a drop around .2V. Some of the newer Schottky diodes fall in between. Selenium diodes have a greater FWD drop.
no that only means that the low side (suction) of the system is working properly. the low side is and should be cold or wet from condensation the high side or (discharge) side should be hot and should not be touched system should be working fine. if the suction side ever gets hot then that would probley indicate that your out of free-on and should have some look at it
