Poliomielitis, also known as polio is a viral disease in younger children and it is highly infectious. Poliomyelitis can cause paralysis in certain parts of the body and break down muscles, causing fatigue and weakness in, or throughout certain parts of the body. Polio mainly does, though, affect the brain and spinal chord.
