Stratify just means to fool your seeds. For example you saved some flower seeds off your plants last summer, in order to get them to grow for this year you must fool them into thinking they had been outside for the winter. To do this you just put some potting soil in a baggie and add the seeds to it. Then you need to keep it in the refrigerator for a few weeks till planting time.
