Sustainable generally means renewable perpetual use. In the environmental sense, it means that something does not damage the environment in the long term because it renews or compensates the damages done. In other situations, it simply means that something can last.

Sustainable is a term used. A sustainable tourist development is one that does no damage to its environment. Solar power is a sustainable source of energy, in that it is renewable and emission free (apart from the manufacture). (The Telegraph says the answer is 8,3. They have incorrectly printed it as it is 3,8.) Another answer could be eco-friendly.
