It looks kind of like a UFO, only 2 inches wide.
where is the thermostat located on the dodge intrepid 2004
yes.
The thermostat on a 2.7L Dodge Intrepid is under the housing where the lower radiator hose attaches to the engine.
Thermostats all appear to have the same shape, their appearance is like a small plunger. The units need to be appropriately temperature rated so the engine can be kept cool.
Replace it.
like this >->o
There's a gasket between the thermostat and the block that you need to replace.
Check the coolant level. Check the thermostat.
the thermostat on the 99 intrepid with the 2.7L is on the bottom water hose.the hose runs from the radiator at the bottom to the engine... the thermostat is on the engine... it is right next to the anternator.thanksAnswerHi Most thermostats are usually found on the engine side of the upper radiator hose.B.H.
could be a sticking thermostat.
iF YOU LOOK AT THE MOTOR YOU WILL SEE A HOSE THAT CONNECTS TO THE RADIATOR. THERE ARE TWO BOILTS REMOVE THEM AND YOU WILL SEE THE THERMOSTAT. JUST TAKE IT OUT AND PUT THE NEW ONE IN. MAKE SURE YOU CHANGE THE GASKET TOO.
Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine. The thermostat will be located near where it connects to the engine.
